Educational Centre Administrator Position

Searching for an Educational Centre Administrator. There are current openings for Montreal and the Québec City region.

Responsibilities:
-Hire, train, and evaluate instructors
-Participate in creating educational curriculum
-Provide children with a tailored one on one approach to learning
-Manage budgets
-Organize special events on a monthly basis
-Develop and follow through on marketing plans to ensure steady business

Profile:
-Bachelor degree in Education, Psychology, Sociology, Business Administration, and/or Statistics
-Minimum 2-5 years of experience in an educational setting preferably, or running a small company.
-Must enjoy working with children & numbers
-Must be flexible to work irregular hours
-Must be flexible to participate in extensive training (a few months)
-Excellent English and math skills

Learning Centre Professional Job

Vanier College is looking for a Learning Centre Professional.

This is a full-time Special Project position that will start in August. Please see posting P-47 for the exact job description and the qualifications required on the Vanier College Human Resources site. Note that the posting will be listed from June 19 to June 26 and applicants must follow the posting instructions exactly.

The job involves tutoring students who want to improve their communication (English) and study skills as well as giving workshops and class presentations on topics concerning the improvement of language and study skills. The new staff member would join a dynamic and innovative team that is involved in numerous projects, for example, the publication of books of student writing, the preparation of learning materials, testing programs for the level of English, programs for students with learning disabilities, etc. To view the kinds of activities the Centre is involved in, view the website for The Learning Centre (found under Quick Links on the Vanier website). Teaching Position Available

There is a teaching position available for the 2008-2009 academic year at Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf.

Students are placed in Beginner and Intermediate groups, but they are “false” beginners. These students are highly motivated and require a teacher who will be able to challenge them intellectually. The candidate must have a broad range of activities as well as be able to maintain discipline.

This would be a great opportunity for a fourth-year TESL student or anyone who would be suitable or interested in this position.

The position is a replacement for a full year: 2 Secondary 5 groups, levels 1 and 2.

Volunteer ESL Position

Evangel Pentecostal Church is looking for volunteer ESL teachers. They have three sessions a year and have approximately 80 students per session.


Our volunteers are not necessarily professional teachers.We have three
levels of instruction. There are no fees for our courses. Most of our students are refugees and immigrants.

Our spring session begins on Saturday from April 19 and finishes on June 21st. The courses last for approximately 10 weeks (only Saturdays). One of our
faithful volunteers has become ill and is unable to teach this session.

Please let your students know about the possibility of getting a hands on experience! It is certainly a rewarding mission!

Unium English Language School is located in Busan, which is the second largest city in South Korea and is surrounded by beautiful mountains and beaches. :)

Unium has been in business since 2003 and is now expanding to several areas in Busan. We have 5 locations in the Busan area: in Haewoondae, Namcheon, Daesin, Dongrae and a Research & Assessment Center.
We are hiring several native English teachers who are passionate, positive, open-minded, and genuinely interested in teaching Korean students.

Working conditions:
- Period of contract: 1 year
- Monthly salary: $2,200-2,400
- Working hours: 3:30 pm-10:10 pm (Monday-Friday)
- Teaching hours: 120 class hours per month
- Overtime pay: $20-25
- We provide a round-trip airline ticket
- Modern studio-style private housing (5 minutes away from the school)
- Severance pay: equal to one month’s salary
- Medical insurance: 50% of medical premium paid by school
- Tax rate is 3.3% (If you are Canadian, your tax can be refunded)
- Class size: 10 students in one class (usually 5-8)
- Level of students: most of the students are preparing to study abroad, so they are eager to learn English, and native teachers teach speaking and writing.
- Most students are 13-16 years old
- Vacation: 10 paid vacation days and national holidays

Requirements:
-must be a native speaker of English (Canadians, Americans, British, Australians, and New Zealanders preferred)
-must hold a 4-year university degree (Bachelor)
-must provide an official grade transcript from said university
-must provide a certificate proving a clear criminal background
